Car Wow

Hi all,

Just wandering if anyone has purchased a new car using Car Wow and if so can give any feedback good or bad please,

https://www.carwow.co.uk/?&Type=Brand&MakeModel=Brand%7CBrand&mkwid=sDc06aUpm_dc&pcrid=59957826232&pkw=car%20wow&pmt=e&gclid=CPHrkpvprc8CFbQy0wodAJ0Ang

I've contacted them with the make and model of a new car I'm interested in and they have contacted my nearest dealers who have all pitched in an OTR price which ranges between 850 and 1780 quid off list price. My nearest dealer has quoted 1100 off list which doesn't sound too bad, although I got over 7K off the M140i

I understand Car Wow isn't a broker and you don't buy the car through them but purely from the dealer, however if you do buy the car Car Wow charges the dealer you buy from for its service.

Just thinking if there are any catches or hidden costs as it looks pretty straight forward.

Cheers,

Tim.

I went out to a guy the other day and he used it to buy his car and saved a fortune ended up having 2 dealers in a bidding war getting ever lower.

Worked for him

Coast2Coast is similar, that provided the lowest price for the 140 (that the dealer matched).

Thanks chaps, I've looked at brokers but the ones I've looked at don't appear to offer the make and model I'm interested in, when I looked online anyways.

I did think of trying it on with 2 dealers with their quotes to see if one would drop their quote against the other :)

Did you try the old broadspeed lot, always worth checking on that site too for extra comparison.

Many thanks, I think I did check them but the vehicle wasn't listed so unsure if they would do a deal.

Mixed opinions on this. I joined up when looking for a replacement for the Z4.

Lots of great deals came up but quite often the dealer would not reply to my return message. Of the ones that did only one could honour the qoute stated with quite a few saying that they "no longer had that particular model in stock" and offering more expensive options.

I did get one good deal on a Merc but was put off as the extras I wanted totally £1m (at least it felt that way!)

I landed up using it and taking the lowest quote to my local dealer asking if he could match it. Wasn't far away.

When we were looking to go down the new S5 route we used CarWow to get the dealers into a bit of a frenzy. Three came back with offers and the best price was a little further than we wanted to travel.

However, Basingstoke Audi didn't believe us until we took the print out to them to show them the initial offer and what we'd been corresponding about.

Anyway, it turns out we found an ex demo and saved £12k anyway but we certainly found Carwow easy to use and seemed to be a good bargaining tool.

Thanks for the replies, the best price I've been offered is like the other end of the country, typical  but reasonably happy with my local dealers offer so will see.

I'm looking at a Hyundai i10 which doesn't appear on some of the brokers websites, just wandering if its because its a cheapish car in the first place.

Remember price is important but so is the service.

I would contact a few dealers and get a feel for them. If your local dealer seems good to deal with but is a few quid more I personally would go with that.

I'm in trade and car wow is not very popular, if you look for car sales memes on facebook you will also see how dealers talk about customers that use it.

Buying a car is a package; price, dealership, sales person. All very important.

In an ideal world you are absolutely right Popeye but the only trouble is I have never actually experienced this from Ford, Rover, Alfa, VW and the worst of a bunch being Vauxhall. I will also say in fairness the fleet company we/I now use, reckons my geo location is awash with less than ideal dealers. Curiously the best service I ever received by a mile was from Motorpoint albeit on a "used" car for the missus.

This is the route I chose when I bought my touring last year , williams at Liverpool were a few quid more than the brokers , but literally a few quid , and the convenience of jumping on the bus to town to pick the car up saved more than the difference , as popey says , there's a bit more to buying the car than the bottom line figure .
I also didn't call him Popeye as a previous poster did

Thanks Popey, I completely agree :) I've used the same BMW dealer the past 13 years as they have always been great and never had any problems which is why I've kept going back. It will be a bit of a novelty trying a Hyundai dealership :?

Can you elaborate please on why you think Car Wow are not very popular? I'm looking to place an i10 order at the end of the month so have a month or so to shop around.

I'd take a guess if your buying through an Internet broker you've laid your cards on the table and you'll only ever buy on the bottom line price , no point in a main dealer giving you the gold star service , you want the cheapest price and you'll go where you can get it , dealer wants the easiest one time sale with no time taken out of the sales persons time . No point investing any time in servicing your sale as you won't come back unless it's cheap !

Thanks Paul, but from what I understand but correct me if I'm wrong Car Wow are not a broker and your not purchasing the car through them, as much as I understand they contact various dealers for a best price and then you take whichever quote and contact the dealer who then pays Car Wow a fee, think that's how it works.
