I've been having issues with starting my 04 Z4 in hot weather. The problem only happens when the weather outside is 80+ degrees (not an exact number) and the temperature inside the car is in excess of that. When I'm having the problem, the radio, internal lights and everything turn on just fine; the battery is brand new. When I attempt to start the engine, I get nothing, no clicking or engine attempting to turn over at all.
I've done quite a bit of Googling and it seems to happen often in honda/acuras due to the Fuel Pump relay having a cracked solder point that expands and loses contact in the heat.
However, it seems like there's no equivalent relay with the Z4. I understand this is definitely an electrical problem and likely something similar. I just don't know what needs to be replaced. Could it be the clutch position sensor? Something electrical in the starter?
