Car window clunking noise.

Today I noticed my passenger door was not unlocking (with the keyfob or central locking button), and then noticed the window clunking when going down, before I venture into the car door, can anyone give any tips on what to check/look for once the door panel is off.

I'd say window regulator is on its way out, no reason why it would affect the door locking tho

Wouldnt it make the same noises going up as well as down if it was the regulator? hmmm times like these that make living in a house without a garage a pain in the asperations.

I sure someone posted similar to this a while ago - I think it was the bolt that held the window guide in was loose.
Advice was to rectify ASAP before it came off and dropped into the bottom of the door

Thanks for the link I have downloaded and printed off the PDF so I know what i am looking at when I get the door card off, actually I may just drop it off at the garage for them to do, having arthritis and working in cnfined spaces like the inside of doors is a little problamatic for my hands.
