Car Wash

I hve always been advised not to put my Z4 MR throught a carwash. However, I saw a chap putting a boxter through a carwash in the week.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I am sure the dealer uses a carwash.

I was told not to because of the wax they spray over your car... you dont want that stuff all over your ragtop.
 
:o :o :o Never put your car through a swirl o matic wash it yourself.

The stealers use an ilegal with poor quality cleaning cloths on piss poor money
 
Automatic car wash - noooooooo! As others have said, just causes minute scratches in the paintwork.
 
Automatic carwashes - just say no!

Only for lazy folk, workhorse/shed vehicles, hire vehicles and works vehicles :wink:
 
I used them for about 15 years. Amazing pieces if kit that used to flail my car with the dirt, grease and gravel that came off the last cars, leaving it after 6 months striped like a zebra. After 12 months they used to look like I'd sand blasted it.

Thankfully every 2 years the car went back and Hertz gave me a shiny new one to mess up
