Car Upholsterers

[PGF]

Hi All,

So I've put a deposit down on an ///M the only problem (apart from the lack of cruise control) is the Aluminium trim. I intend to get this trimmed in leather in a similar way to Guiseley and use this as an opportunity to change to Champagne leather.

My question is can anybody recommend an upholsterer in the North East? I've found these in Redcar but I have not used them before:

It'd be a nice excuse for a drive to Redcar to get a quote but I've no idea of the quality of their work.

I will do, it looks like I have a bit of a road trip on my hands for the weekend, the things we do eh? :roll:

It'll probably be easter that this gets done, I'm going away for a week and I reckon they'll need the car for a while to do all this so it seems the ideal time.

This is all assuming that I don't spend the entirety of my disposable income on petrol because I'm spending all my time hooning which is probably a legitimate concern

That's the bloke. The one in Redcar you mentioned has a good reputation too but from my investigations into getting the doors 'leathered' Kish at Sunderland are meant to be the best.

Can you not buy a carbon leather dash off of fleabay and then sell yours on? If not and if it was me I'd have a look at this thread for some inspiration: http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=59278 then travel to Yorkshire and get it done by the guy who did Z4MO's. For what he paid and got done I'd go there, whilst I've only read good things about Kish and the Redcar company I've never seen examples of work. Good luck and post the results, I haven't spent any money in a while so I could be tempted to get some work done on mine!

The guy who did Z4MO's is based in Colchester isn't he? It isn't out of the question, I have relatives in Colchester that I visit relatively regularly (though I usually get there in my Dad's 2l diesel Mondeo) so as long as he could get the work done in a long weekend it would be possible. Might want to sort the cruise control first if I'm going to drive to Essex though

I had heard about him, if I do get it done it'll probably be by him. I'll have to see how I cope without it, I'm used to getting on the motorway on my way to work, setting the CC and not really touching the pedals all the way to work, just driving using the buttons to disengage/reengage it when someone in an inferior car pulls out into the BMW lane

We'll see if I can hold a steady speed using just my foot :?
