It should be clean when you get it so coat it with Gtechniq l1 smart fabric and you'll find water and dirt just fall off it

Yes, i1 (eye-one) - I've used it and it's great stuff, not particularly expensive either

500ml did two coats on my roof with some left over - you can spray it on but I painted it on using a new el-cheapo 2" paintbrush, left it for a day or so to ensure it was completely dry and then did a second coat (which takes less liquid than the first coat)

No problem - I'd take the 3 years claim with a pinch of salt as that's probably if it's garaged, but if you plan on topping it up by adding another coat at the start of each winter to keep salty water out you won't go far wrong
 
Well it's taken me bloody ages to trawl through all your posts Carol to find the news, but congratulations 3.4S my that's going to feel like going from the acceleration of a V2 rocket to the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701D) :D
