Car roll frame wanted to hire, anyone?

Hey all,

Next year I'll be starting to restore my 1998 MR2 T bar to show car standard, I'll drop the engine and it'll be getting a show standard re-spray, all glass out, doors, bonnet, trunk, bumpers off etc etc. I'll be detailing the underneath to concours as well so that means all suspension and running gear off for painting powder coating etc, so I need a roll frame to be able to get to the underside. Has anyone got such a frame not being used that they'd be willing to rent to me approx 6months next year? If you've got one you'll know the kind of thing I mean.

Worth a shot asking, I know there's some classic car guys on here that might have one gathering dust. Give me a shout if anyone has anything please.

Thanks muchly. :)

I was out in my 1995 G LTD today, took it for a spin and to prep it for the MOT. Such fun cars to drive.
I don't have a rotisserie/car turner, just jack my cars up as high as possible and sit it on axle stands

Lovely that firebobby, red just suits them so well.

This current one is my 6th and a keeper for the long term. (had it 5yrs already) The level of finish I want means laying on my back for hours on end is a no go, done too much of that kind of thing in the past, it makes you fed up and cut corners, this will be a long term project. I want the rotisserie to spin it and detail the underneath once the running gear is out in some comfort.

Any good?

No they're not Mike, they rely on the running gear to still be attached as they bolt onto the hubs, I'll be removing the whole running gear front and back. Ideally I need a rotisserie which you attach to the front and back of the car to give complete clear access to the whole underside.

But thanks for the post though, much appreciated.

Looks good Mike, not out the way price wise either. If nothing pops up on here then thats the path I'll go. Thanks again.

John, if your removing everything to just a bare tub, I would be tempted to roll it onto old tyres and cushions to do the work on the underside.

It's a thought firebobby but ideally I want to be able to wheel it in and out of the garage to use a DA sander on it etc, plus body wise it's absolutely arrow straight down the flanks as a new car, no dings or ripples in it, I wouldn't want to risk any depresssions in it because as it is it doesn't need any filler in anywhere. Spinning it would give me chance to work on the underside if it's foul weather outside.

N/A firebobby, TBH I've never wanted a turbo, they apparently go out of tune quite easily and I'd prefer a V6 lump out of a Camry for more grunt. This will be a tarts show queen so no need for more shove, I can't afford spending anymore on it after the re-spray either. The main aim is a show car. I can't bring myself to sell it, it's a rare as hens teeth UK car with factory air con, they usually only come with air on import turbos. :)

Yeah bad form sorry.. I haven't any pics that I can pop on here, they're on an old phone that is dead. I'll take some new ones when I can drive again as the car is over at my mums house, I'm house bound with pneumonia and a diaphragm problem just now.

Cheers Jim. Yes I'm at half mast I have to say, x-ray showing pneumonia and my right lung diaphragm is too high for some reason, just waiting to see the cardiac surgeon who did the ablation to decide what to do. :)
