First of all, many thanks to sp3ctre for granting special permission for me to list a non-Z4 for sale on the forum! That's a great help! :)

The zed has gone, and phase two is now upon me - which is selling the 5 series too. It has been on the forum a few times, but for anyone who hasn't seen it, here are the specs.

2003/53 BMW 545i SE Auto saloon. Titanium silver with black Dakota leather. I believe that it was originally a BMW demonstrator (it's got pretty much all of the extras list ticked). It came with the Sport suspension pack (the M Sport bodykit was never offered on the 545i)

Bi-Xenon adaptive headlights
Servotronic steering
Electric heated memory front seats
Factory rear tinted glass
Business navigation
Bluetooth phone preparation
Upgraded Hi-fi loudspeaker system (woofers in the door sills - sounds great)
Multi function steering wheel
Glovebox mounted CD changer
Front & rear PDC with visual display
Cruise control
Headlight washers
Extended interior lights
Dechrome & clear indicator pack

I have since added:

Custom stainless steel twin exhaust system (cost me £800, but it means no costly replacement BMW back boxes) - no motorway drone, but a nice meaty tone when you give it the beans...
19" staggered alloy wheels (aftermarket)
M sport rear bumper with custom twin cutout diffuser
M Sport front bumper (with fogs) and matt black kidney grilles
M5 rear boot panel
Upgraded white xenon bulbs
LCI rear lights, completed with modules (so no error messages)
Gloss black roof wrap
Genuine BMW spare wheel kit (with tools) - no dreaded run flats
Carbon roundel badges all round (including wheels)

The car had the service pack option from new, which covered the first two years. For some reason, the service book only starts from when that expired. So, full BMW history as follows:

Pre-delivery check - September 2003.
20.12.05 - 27,495 miles [BMW]
21.09.06 - 36,549 miles [BMW]
19.09.08 - 60,881 miles [BMW]
Nov. 2009 - 76403 miles [BMW]
27.05.10 - 85000 miles [BMW]
17.06.10 - 86259 miles (including brake service) [BMW]
Sep. 2010 - 92554 miles [non-BMW dealers from whom I bought the car]

I then bought the car February 2011 at 93,654 miles and had it serviced at November 2011 at 98,925 miles. It currently is at 105k miles. Last week, I had brand new Falken FK453s fitted all round (200 miles only on them). It's never missed a beat in all of the time that I've owned it. It's been cossetted in much the same way as the zed. It's been garaged every night, the leather interior regularly fed, the exterior clay barred and regularly waxed.

I'll post some interior shots tomorrow after I've given it a vacuum!

Car is MOT'd until September 2013. Tax runs out end of March at the moment...

I'm looking for £5995 for this one, or £6195 with the facelift back lights kept on... they really make a difference. With the private plate and the facelift rear lights, the car has often been mistaken for a 2010 car. It's a LOT of car for the money, but as with my zed - it's a good on. With new tyres all round (£900) is a bargain for someone.

Please note that the plate is NOT staying with the car on this one - I'm putting it onto retention - so it'll be going back on it's original plate.

Thanks all for looking! PM if anyone interested...

Epic engine in there mr l :) a very rare machine indeed , the burble will be missed i,m sure
best of luck

Mrs B loves this car, as do I, but it's just not quite the right time for us, dammit :x

From what I can see after a quick google it has a v8 4.4l engine, 333bhp, gets to 60 in 5.8 secs...nice

Yes, that's the one... it's been a great car for us. I had considered keeping it, but as the zed had to go (no garage from next month) I just figured that if I sold both I could then treat myself to something really tasty... eyeing up an M5 or possibly an M6

Nice

I'd have it off you in a heartbeat to be honest, but I have no idea what my next job will be, or what they might allow me to drive (one of the jobs REQUIRES that I take a company car :o ). Mrs B needs a new car and likes these... I am secretly glad I can't have it as part of my brain recoils in horror at the thought of her 5.0" frame behind the wheel of a 5m long v8 monster that is faster than my car... Of course another part finds the thought really quite attractive

Good luck with the sale - I'm sure you'll have no problem shifting it.

What you wouldn't find attractive Mr B is the consumption of the 333 V8 , steady away high 20's is achievable , but pull up in traffic & i you can't help but glance at the computer
Then the twitching & hot sweat starts :D it counts down faster than the clock  soon becomes 19/20mpg quickly followed by 17/18mpg :P
BUT totally infectious noise & what a buzz from the right foot when you get it down  awesome & can only think M5 or M6 must feel like you are heading for the moon

It's actually been surprisingly good fuel-wise. I regularly do long trips (Wales to the North East) and unless we get caught in a traffic jam, I can usually get about 33 - 35 mpg. I averaged 37mpg on one trip. I had an Impreza for a couple of months and that got 22mpg on the same trip. At motorway cruising speeds the big V8 is not much over idle speed. The computer says that in the time I've owned the car (two years) I've averaged 24.7mpg over about 13k miles. I'll live with that.... :)
