I’ve noticed that CarPlay is being more temperamental since the latest software update.

Sometimes it won’t connect, other times it requires a retry, and sometimes it’s fine.

Anyone else experienced random CarPlay not working on their G29 recently?

Not tried it yet. Will do though to see if there’s any difference

Well, took it into the dealers today for a few warranty items including:

- CarPlay not connecting
- Roof creaking
- Satnav showing wrong position

They did some sort of update, or re-flash or something and the satnav is bang on accurate and CarPlay connected instantly on the way back.

In addition, the roof was absolutely silent all the way home. Not a single squeak, rattle, creak or noise. They had adjusted some trim, put some foam tape in, and re-lubricated the whole mechanism.

Colour me impressed so far. Dealer was excellent. Got me a courtesy car (which was a new mini countryman and pretty decent), called me twice to update, and talked me through everything very well.

When I first got my z4 I had trouble with carplay as well. There was a certain way that I found to set it up in order for it to work and connect properly every time I got into the car. An update eventually fixed the issue.
