Car make whine noise when pressing the throttle?

Hi all. I just bought a 2003 2.5i model and have noticed a squeaky/whiny noise coming from underneath the car. At first I thought it might be the breaks, but have since figured out that it is somehow associated with the position of the gas pedal while driving. If the pedal is in just the right position, no matter which gear I'm in, I hear the squeak. Are there any ideas on this?

i have a really annoying whine but only when pressing the accel, throttle off and it stops, anyone got any ideas, doing my nut in!!

Yea, read on some other forums (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1063961-High-pitched-whine-under-1-4-1-3ish-throttle) and it sound like it is that, is this a easy fix? Im a broke student hehe

I get a whining noise whenever I accelerate too, but it seems to be coming from the passenger seat!

Weird but never happens when I am on my own in the car. :rofl:
