Car lift options

I'm looking on getting a lift put in the garage. I've been looking online at both scissor lifts and two post lifts. I've been leaning more to the idea of a scissor lift but the lowest I've found is 4" lowered. Has anyone tried these before? I'm unsure on just how deep the cement is in our garage for the anchoring of the two post lifts and do like the idea of keeping the scissor lift portable if there's enough clearance for being on einachs. Anyone tried these at all or something like it? http://www.carguygarage.com/6polowricarl.html

That looks like a pretty good bit of kit Piper. Don't know what I'd go for in your situation but obviously a two post system into concrete would be as stable as they come. Check the clearance on those too though as sometimes the profile on our cars can be too low for them, especially of you're running Eibachs. Mate of mine has a two post lift and my MC will drive onto it but you can't get the swinging arms underneath the floor pan to the jacking points.

If you look at something like the "strongman "scissor lift still portable but with the benefit of access to the centre of car underneath .

Very cool thanks. I was just looking at their site and they showed adding low profile ramps to a low porsche so that looks like the way I might be leaning to.

I still think that these are brilliant - and portable

These also look ideal, only catch I guess is still having to jack it while it's on the lift to do brake/suspension work.

the only problem i can see with those sissor lifts it they seem to stop you getting underneath the car... so great for working into the engine bay or on something like a 7 where theres bugger all underneath anyway.

that other one, has it been around for a while? im not convinced its all that new as i remember a similar topic on the westfield forum years ago talking about one of these type things... i think it was some sort of fold down trailer that could be used as way to lift the car too in a similar fashion. basically jack up the ends and put axle stands under them using the two wheel tray thingies as the bed of the lift....

its nifty ill give him that. as it would work a treat in a small garage.
