Car Leather Seats: White vs Black?

Right - i've always been an advocate of white seats, i think they look awesome in the right car (i wanted white to go with my Imola Z4MC but missed the one unicorn i saw during my purchasing hunt), and i'm now back to a similar dilemma. The white i'd always go with dark headlining, so its just the seats + doorcards in light leather.

I'm about to hit the button on a new car order (sorry, not a Z4 - the one i've got is the only one for me!), and need to decide ... white seats, or black with red stitching?

The white i think looks more luxurious .. but i'm concerned it'l get dirty and look tatty faster (especially in a DD). Any opinions?

FWIW i'm going for a grey external paint.

I bought a 6 series gran coupe a few years ago as a DD.. brand new, with white leather seats

I wear jeans a lot and black stuff ( coats etc )

They haven't coloured a bit, and I have white stitching on the seats, white seat belts and white contrast stitch on the leather dash

I just get it detailed inside every 6 months for a few hundred quid or so, not that you would need this but it helps stay on top of things , I've never really seen them discolour a bit. I run a baby wipe over the driver seat once a week but that's all

So don't worry about the colour and maintinance and just go with the ones you like mate

PM me if you want a photo of what white seats look like after 2 and a half years and 18k miles and I'll send one over...... But they still look brand new

Ivory white is the colour I have so its a slightly darker white, but all the stitching is pure white and has never discoloured

The black as the white will forever look grubby and show wear far quicker.

I agree that white can show the dirt if you wear mucky clothes/overalls in the car, but if you clean the interior periodically then that shouldn't be a big issue. I find black does suck heat into the car though, I've had many a hot bot in our 4x4 with black leather

Leather seats should be Black or Red (or black and red).

i like the light colour, looks classy and luxurious, but the dark with red stitching + design pack adds extra alcantara for a more sporty feel. still totally undecided.

Black for me. White will look odd with the grey paint.
