Partner had her car keyed last night by some barsteward - photos below - never had anything like this fixed before - Is it an insurance job or can it be touched up - its a lease car so will go back in just over 2 years so not concerned about it being perfect but gutted!

Can't see any photos but I've been driving lease cars for nearly 30 years and if there not right when it goes back they'll sort it and charge you at top prices.

We are just wondering how much it will cost roughly and if we need to go Insurance - I am sure if we go to the dealer it will be a full respray down the side

can you catch your fingernail on the scratch??? if so, it could be wet sanded out, but probably needs paint... if you can't catch your nail, then it should be able to polish out..

I can catch my nail in it! I remember a company sending me an email to set up a franchise for minor fixes. Can't remember the name. I am going to take it round a few places to find out the cost tomorrow

hmmm... I would still be temped to try wet sanding... if it doesn't work, the worst that can happen is paint anyway... so you would be still at the same point...

not sure if I've posted these before, but this was my mates car, and a few hours later it was all sanded out, saved him hundreds on the paint quotes he was getting...

and after

something to maybe think about anyway to keep the costs down...

mindless vandalism. not condoning violence , but that deserves a kick in the bollocks ! ifi saw someone do that to my coupe I would probably lose it bigtime. if you need to paint three or four panels , you are looking at 400 quid I would say, chips away may do something with it though not overly impressed with the one I saw, he had only just done the training course as part of the franchise package so no real world experience.

Well took it over to a body shop in Exeter and looks like £600-£700 - just waiting on final cost to come through via email so looks like an insurance job!

Still waiting for Chip away to call back on their 24 hour estimate service

A mobile paint guy will be able to sort that. not sure I'd go chips away unless you have recommendations from people regarding your local guy as it's a franchise and the quality can be really hit or miss.

I had need for a small bumper and wheel repair recently. I put the question out on detailing world and was recommended a local guy. He came out and did the wheel and bumper in the work car park for £100. When I asked a body shop they wanted £200 for the bumper alone and needed the car for 2 days.

Out of curiosity, is that a Nissan cashcow? I like to test my car geekyness by guessing cars from random abstract detail shots. The wheel design, plastic arch and 360 badge. Pretty sure it's not a Ferrari 360

Where are you based.

That's a Qashqai 360 is it not? I work at the Nissan dealership in Bournemouth. If it's not sorted yet I can sort you out.

Find the c**t who did it though!
