Ruddy car!!! Did 800 miles the past 4 days no problems, drive to work this morning, get on dual carriageway, put foot down to speed up, jolt from engine, yellow exclamation light comes on (brake light) in the centre, and at the same time the triangular stability control light comes on in the rev counter.

Absolutely no power from the throttle, nothing, red battery warning light and red oil lamp then light up and engine dies. Managed to pull into layby thankfully. Car then would turn over but not start.

RAC got to me very soon and towed me all the way to the BMW garage. The RAC bloke didnt know what it was, his laptop detected an error on all 4 injectors saying they were failing so it could be anything.

So god knows what it is, but jeeeez these cars are useless in terms of reliability given the hassle ive had with this one in the past 10 months since buying it.

Oh and its a 2.0 2006 model.

Mine's done 55,000 miles in 4 years in my ownership, and has only had to be recovered twice. Once for a gash in the tyre which was not repairable with the mobility system, and once for a yellow EML light.

Yep!!! lol. Wonder what will go wrong next. Will be interesting to see however that once the injector fault is fixed if the erratic idle is fixed.

Got my car back yesterday after having a new fuel injector fitted - WOW, what a difference, it must have been faulty for a while because its like a new car.

Acceleration is instant and feels more rapid, and get this - even the lumpy idle I had on my 2.0 engine has now gone! Its as smooth as silk!

 hope you get lots of trouble free s-miles now!

Certainly feels that way, drives like a different car now, makes me think the injector has been playing up for a while now.

Thankfully I got an extended warranty when I bought the car, best thing I ever bought!! I asked how much it would have cost me...... £280.
