I've used a variety of covers - 2 vinyl type heavier half covers (one with edge magnets and another with a magnetic strip) which both marked and scratched my Zeds and a much lighter plastic type (just like the one Marlon has on his photo) which did 'haze' the clear coat where the edges got blown about and the elastic straps rubbed but these marks were easily polished out.
I have a full cover now for my M. It is half tailored as I did some research and believed that the ability for air to circulate around the M would be of benefit. I always clean the M thoroughly before putting the cover on and always used a large drying towel over the nose and one on the boot edges. Since then, my wife Steph has come up with large sheets of fleece bought from Tescos (a fleecy throw or blanket) which we now place under the cover over the bonnet and boot to protect the paint finish in high winds. We've done this because the 4 layer cover, which says it has a soft inner lining, feels more like cardboard!
So far so good . . . .
I guess always having to clean a daily would be a pain so a half cover would make more sense.
