CAP valuations for Z4 etc..

£11,850-£12,650 (or £14,700-£15,600 if I mistype the mileage and reduce it by a factor of 10)

But I assume that's based on a bog standard car with no options, as it says initial price was £40,480, when I know mine was closer to £48,000 with optional extras, so they must add a couple of hundred to the value at least.

Although the list of standard items isn't very accurate, so a dealer may knock money off their offer due to not having the 'standard' front fog lights, illuminated vanity mirrors, front armrest, alarm :P

It also says that the price is based on a car that is in 'average' condition...
Trade in Average
If the vehicle meets the 'Trade in Average' definition below, this is the price range you would expect from a car dealer if you traded in this vehicle:
  • In a reasonable condition given its age and mileage
  • Requires some work other than routine cleaning and servicing to bring it up to standard for the dealer to sell
  • Mechanically sound
  • Current MOT certificate or in need of only routine service item replacements in order to obtain one
  • Acceptable colour with some repainting required
  • Interior largely undamaged and complete but in need of cleaning
  • All documentation in order

BTW, my 1990 e34 M5 that I sold (needing work) for £3k with 150,000 miles on the clock is listed as being worth £600 - my 1994 one that I sold for £4k for spares is listed at £1000.

It's a load of bollocks, mine came in at £5,100! It's on a vauxhall traders site and they are hoping for people to believe their bullshit and trade in and then they will sell on at a higher price AND make a profit on a car they sell you.

Just gonna put this out there 'if you buy a new vauxhall your a fuking idiot probably having it paid for by the tax payer'. If you buy. Second hand vauxhall your optimistic! :?

£6000 valuation, I paid £9600 almost 3yrs ago.

That isn't so bad at all really.

Jimbo, I think having m-sport seats will add a lot of desirability... probably makes the car worth £500 more imo...

Remember guys, these are TRADE IN values not actual values. If you need actual values then compare your car to similar spec'd cars on PH or AT so don't get disheartened.

At least if you NEED to sell though, you have a good idea what you will get worst case scenario.

I'm not sure what I'd really want for mine now... maybe £7,300 ish... no idea if I'd actually get that though :D

Vauxhall site or not, they are genuine CAP trade in prices and it's the same number any dealer from any Marques garage/dealership will work from.

I thought the figure it came out for mine was bang on in todays market :)

I have to agree. As someone has mentioned these are trade in prices and not a valuation so they seem about right. My Elise was priced at £6-£6.5K but I still sold it for well over £10K so it is also more accurate for generic marques in my opinion.

Yes they are very favourable valuations, however 99.9% of cars are behind book currently so you can chop off 1000-2000k from those prices should you walk in to your friendly BMW dealership wanting to px.

Good time to buy, poor time to sell. :)

Especially on anything perceived to be a gas guzzler. I had an Evo X and lost a fortune on it over 2 years, the bottom has fallen out of those markets for sure. Oddly my last 2 cars have both been purchased by foreign buyers.

As mentioned,Jim,i wouldnt worry too much, these are trade-in,and seem a bit low...actual replacement value is always way more.
Eg. someone on here was offered 8 or 9k for his similar (to yours.albeit with satnav?u got this??) 2004 3.0i in st.grey...after his wee accident.
He refused several offers from ins.co,finally agreeing on a replacement value of £11000. If u intend keeping it for a while, shouldnt be a problem...the markets just crap just now.
Moral of the story,Keep it,Sell privately,or Write it off,lol..and barter hard with ins co. for max replacement cost, like for like :D
