So when last back in the UK cleaned my wife's 325 M Sport Coupe (September 2012). Noticed that on all wheels around the centre hub where the BMW badged centre cover fits are small amounts of corrosion (paint bubbles) :o :(

Took it to the dealer prepared to do battle :x

Service guy had a look and said after only a few moments, "Sorry to see that should never have happened. New set of wheels all round if thats OK?' Nearly fell over. So next Monday into the dealership for a new set of wheels. YAHOO

I've had similar with the Citroen - the dealer replaced with no questions asked, like you I was prepared for a battle...

nice when that happens though :D

Nice when it happens-but it shouldn't have happened in the first place  -did they give a reason as to why it may have happened?

I've had three sets replaced for corrosion on two BMW's (Really light on the Z4 and only visible with wheel removed).

It's if they are cracked you will really struggle.

Dealer wants your old wheels for badly kerbed car on used car lot?
Rinse and repeat.

They're car dealers, if they can fob off punters you can be sure they've got their hands in the Bavarian till as well....

Warranty replaced wheels have to have an angle grinder put through them apparently. How true that is I don't know. Slightly skeptical I have to say.

Wheels replaced under warranty are usually subject to a return request by the manufacturer. They won't be fitted to another car or sold on ebay.Dealers are in a really awkward position over warranty, they have a manufacturer that doesn't want to pay out but they are the customer facing people who get all the flak

srhutch is absolutely correct;if they are not returned to the manufacturer they have to be rendered unusable

"Library Footage"?
I work for a printer company and we use RFID tags to ID the Ink Containers, to make sure the customer is not putting out of date (it goes off) ink through their £3k each printheads which are warrantied.
Sometimes the tags fail and we send out replacement tags, after the customer has sent a picture of the problem Ink Container. We constantly get the same photos sent again and again. Even by people who have been refused before for the same trick
