Ive just put my private plates on retention about 2 days ago but havent changed them back to the original plates, im taking the car do the dealer on the 31st will i be able to get away with a couple of days?
 
It depends what you mean by 'get away with'. When I put my plate on retention earlier this year I did it on line and the plate transfer was instant and had an email telling me to change the plates straight away.
You could try checking the cars MOT online or seeing if autotrader/Wbac can find your car to see if the databases have been updated
