Hitting 410 in an M, I'm very impressed!

:headbang: Damn and blast, saves me uploading my picture showing 444 miles

I was driving like a great grandfather to get that number; had an older person following me on the interstate, and we were going 60 mph for about 1.25 hours. I had to drive slowly so they wouldn't lose sight of me. Hopefully I will never again get that many miles per tank! :driving:

Hey I'm not going to argue but I had already driven a few miles before thinking about taking the photo, but well done all the same wiseguy. So next week I will drive like Miss Daisy to see if I can beat 446

Bring it on!

Mine's a 3.0Si, driven every day, at least 1 or 2 weekday journeys of 200+ miles (motorway), 2 or 3 of 80 miles (half motorway / half London commute), weekends mostly short journeys but with at least one 1hr+ trip to the shops for milk via the countryside, sometimes more ...
:D

When purchased just over a month ago it was showing 30mpg, now down to 23.8mpg. But as it's new to me and I am a child at heart I enjoy booting it at every available opportunity. I'll check the range next time I fill up, just for kicks

...still better than the Focus ST I got rid of - 19 to 20mpg max, so as far as I'm concerned I'm quids-in !

There has been a few posts recently on miles per gallon from a 3.0 Zed, filled up last night on the way home and the indicated range was quite impressive.

So in the age of rising fuel costs can anyone beat this from a 3.0 petrol engine

How about this then,

Just my usual 200 mile journey back from Bristol, bit of traffic on the M42 but most of the way is with cruise set at 73 mph, listening to an audiobook and just chilled.

That's why my average fuel economy is about 37 mpg, we buy our cars for different reasons, mine is a motorway cruncher, that when the need, desire or road allows I can have lots of fun and it beats a 3 series diesel hands down with joy 8)

When filling up the X5, I get the 999 miles on the counter :)

Never get anywhere near that though, but does do a good 38 mpg which I think is excellent for a car that size.

Perhaps that's a design feature to counter the depression following emptying your wallet into the tank ?

Good point, the z has half the tank size so does not feel so bad .

Depends on the 3-series diesel..... :driving: Don't try arguing with a D3BT.....I can run our 3.4 Alpina close in mine as it outhandles the Zed :poke:
