Camskill - how do they do it?

I'm just about to order a set of Vredestein's for the Coup. The Andy Walsh day finally did for my ditchfinder Avon's :D

I know a few other Z4 forum'ers have used Camskill.... They're kosher right?

I'm just curious how they manage £571 delivered when the other two quotes I've had are:

£1,015 fitted at a local tyre place I trust
£870 fitted by Event Mobile

I'm suspicious. Dick Lovett have made me this way

I had my winter tyres delivered by Camskill. No problems, just arrived via DHL or Citylink I think. Got email confirmation of the order, delivery details, courier tracking etc etc.

Only negative I have read is if you have to get in contact with them, that it is very difficult. I did not need to so can not speak from my experience re that.

Yep, i had Camskill deliver my falkens to my fitter late last week.

just a shame the fitter couldn't get my runflats off! muppet.

No, I had them delivered to my house as they were for the X5 so space was no issue for the 4 tyres + 4 spare wheels for them to go on.

I had the dealer change the lot for £70.

Camskill are no better or worse that any other internet tyre sell.
They make their margin based upon high volume, low overheads, selling a commodity product.

I've used blacklines as they price matched camskill and ended up lower, although my local guy now sells to me at pure trade with no markup other than £80 to fit which in reality costs him £10 in leads and valves.

To me the real differentiator is the garage that fits the tyres. The care they take in removing, fitting and balancing on expensive rims.

Pile 'em high, sell 'em cheap. Just the same as other places online - they can afford to buy in bulk at cheaper prices and sell them on cheaper. I used Camskill for my Falkens but have previously used mytyres too. The tyre fitter I used says he'll price match tyres for me if I ask him first next time though :)

I've just ordered them, they tyre fitter declined price matching

Still, they're very good, and have a hunter machine. I might get the geo checked at the same time.

bit late since you've already bought, but I got same (2 x 255/35/18 , 2 x 225/40/18) delivered last week for £411 from Elite Direct. £50 to fit locally.

Thanks, but I was ordering 265/30*19 and 235/35*19 which probably explains the difference.

Hi Raify, that's where I got my Vreds from. Delivered the next day, no problems. Local garage fitted for £50 all in. Make sure your details are exactly the same as the card otherwise they will reject the order. When I spoke to them their account manager said they only make a few quid per tyre so they really rely on the volume of orders to make money. It's a simple idea but it seems to work for them (and us as customers)
