What's the difference between a DSLR and a bridge camera. Argos are selling a Nikon L810 bridge for £119.99. Are they any good as a point and shoot as I'm trying to spend some Xmas gift money!

Its a powerful camera, yes its not what a professional would use but there are so many functions it can do and you can learn over time and use and it will be good for many many year. And you can just stick it on AUTO and snap away if need be.
Bridge cameras are really really good compact and have many many functions, but there is no real substitute for a DLSR i promise.
Plenty of second hand and refurbed models on ebay you could pick up, use for 12month then sell on at not much loss if you want to upgrade further
