As I am still fairly new to BMWs and certainly new to the idea of a timing chain drive what is the recommended service interval on these on the 3.0i? I know with cam belts its normally 4 years or 70,000 miles or so but what is it with the chain drive? I had a quick look through the service booklet but couldn't see it glaring out at me anywhere.

u don't need to change the cam chains but you do need to replace serpentine belt for your accesories(alt water pump etc...) I changed mine out at like 83k still looked good at the time. so I am guessing pushing 90k before a change is due...but always check the condition and replace accordingly
