Yup! I'll be there. At the 'Ring for Sat evening and Sunday all day. Then will be at Spa on Monday...
Please get some in Car video at SPA - I'll likely never get out there with my Z4MC so I'll be living through your experience. I visited the track in 2006 - had the F1GP booked as part of a 10 day trip to Belgium Went anyway. Drove straight to the track from Brussels after the all night flight - when we arrived there was a track day session on; couple of F430's, P-cars, Vantage etc. Looked like great fun... Oh well, maybe some day

Just uploaded it this morning.. it's not my fastest lap of the day, but better than nothing eh? :P I'm having trouble getting any/all of the video off my camera :(

So ~200kmph through Eau Rouge in 4th - you commented on the brakes - have you installed a BBK?

I would guess so. I've got a new bullet-cam setup which hopefully will capture the speedo next time...

My passenger mentioned the brakes. They're still relatively standard, but were just upgraded with Pagid Yellow (RS29) pads. Very aggressive (and thus hard on discs), but fantastic stopping power over the standard items. Braided lines and a fluid change next. Will look at a BBK when the standard discs are worn out...

Also hoping Santa will drop one of these down the chimney this year, which should give me some basic logging capabilities next year :)

Sixspeed,

One of the best things about the RS29's is that they are not hard on the discs - at least in theory! At the N24 everyone uses them and some cars even get thru the entire race without changing the pads. (Not sure about the discs tho.)

That is more than can be said for my AP setup. Managed about 20 laps before the vibrations set in. AP are investigating ...

RS29's are very hard and last ages which is why they are used in 24hr races, but you can't have a pad that lasts forever as well as giving ultimate bite so they are compromised, I much prefer something wiht more bits such as the Mintex F range, the Rs29's are very good from cold though so a very good all round pad for track and road

Brake pads like life - a compromise!

Personally I am a big fan of Pagid pads so I am biased but I found their more competitive pads to be brilliant but too expensive to run. Wore threw a set of AP discs in 3000 miles which made trackdays too expensive for me. I found the RS29 compound to be far more economical - yes a compromise but a good one. Like a part time model for a girlfriend!

Ahh ok. I was going from what someone else told me about the RS29s. If they're not that aggressive after all, that's even better! :D

But I have to say the bite is fantastic (well, for just a pad upgrade) in comparison to the standard sh*te. I haven't yet upgraded the rears. Not sure I'll need to, unless I go for a BBK on the front perhaps?

I feel I could go quicker through Eau Rouge if I went back there again. It's a blind crest, so you have to have a lot of faith in your line, and you won't know if you've got it wrong at speed until it's all a little bit too late!

A lot of people were going quicker, but then cutting the left corner at the top of the crest, and running well inside the kerb and off the track, which i felt defeated the point somewhat...
