calling all usb audio/idrive users

have recently been using a usb stick to play my music and have discovered that if I delete a song from the stick it still plays the track in the car.
I have played every track on my pc to make sure that there isn't a track miss named on the stick and the songs are definitely not on the stick
am I missing something? :?

sorted, discovered swmbo likes to rest her arm on the idrive control which is why it is always in a different mode after she has driven it
and had somehow managed to save the usb stick contents to the hd and I hadn't noticed it was using that to play the music
