Nice. Now all you need are some chromed clips (if I can ever get them finished by my plater, arrrrgh!).

Agreed if you have any left put me down for a set

Cheers Gaz

Neat - looks so much better than the standard BMW 'rust and dust combination'

Ditto Mike's question, but I assume you took them off to do

I see, yep they do look great for not taking them off. I want to do mine soon, the hubs are fine, just the calipers are looking bad.

How do you get the wheels off if they are stuck to the hub?

No i did them on the car with a detail brush lazy i know but look OK :D

Then you did well because I had mine and the carriers off, pads out to clean and then paint.

Mike - you take the studs out then while on axle stands kick the tyres a few times. If that fails lower then progressivly on the jack and they'll pop off. On the Jeeps I drive the problem is so bad we sometime literaly have to loosen the wheel nuts then drive 10metres !!!

Ah cheers I'll have to try that then. I bought a trolley jack, axle stands and torque wrench at Xmas (wanted to clean insides of wheels) but I couldn't get the first wheel off plus it was freezing over Xmas so I gave up after 2 mins :D

I used to have to use a 5 lb baby sledge to persuade the wheels off of my old Cougar. I found a very very light film of moly grease on the pilot diameter of the wheel can help.

I know this has been posted before, however, some may not have read it: get these, real soon!!

I've been a little bit skeptical of these since In my experience, the bind is usually not the face if the hub to the wheel, but the pilot diameter to the inner diameter of the wheel. Based on your enthusiasm, I assume that you have had good results with this product? How thick are they?

Thin but robust....it is die cut out of a phenolic sheet.

I agree with ay8306 that mine have always been 'bonded' the the centre 'spindle', not the hub to wheel face. I'm sure however these would reduce the natural corrosion between alloy and cast hub faces

looks nice and fresh.... i want to do the same thing, only thing is, Black or Sterling? Is it possble to get a can of Sterling at the dealer? :driving:

You need hight temp paint the aerosol i used is available in black.

Here you can buy special caliper paint in just about any color you want. It is ceramic and designed for high temps. It is not that hard to remove the calipers but I wish I had replaced the brakes when I painted my calipers. You can see what they look like on my avatar. The calipers at least on the 2.5i are quite small but even at that the effect is quite good. :)

One other suggestion. When you are going to take a wheel off your car, before you jack it up or put it on jack stands. Use a good lug wrench not some puny one but one of good size and just loosen the lugs a little before you jack up the car. Many time the weight of the car with the lugs loosened just a tad will allow them to just fall off once you have the car jacked up and on a jack stand and the lugs loosened all the way. I have never had to bash the wheels or tires, nor would I, to remove them. :( :o
