Caliper colour

My calipers are looking very tatty so I wanted to tidy them up a bit, I thought just plain silver would be best but I'm a little disappointed in the one that I have done as it (unsurprisingly) just blends into the wheel & doesn't really show up at all.

MrsP thought I should do them red but I wasn't so keen, I don't know why but I'm leaning towards gold, inspiration anyone?, or even better pics, preferably with the same wheels as mine.

Car colour is Titanium silver as I guess this has a bearing on what may look right.

(ignore the tatty centre caps, next on my list of to-do's)

I don't know if I agree Tony, I think they look spot on - how they should've left the factory and stayed. The black OEM paint on mine is starting to look a bit ropey ... Considering having mine silver too.

Gold looks good- more subtle than red but not as bland as silver. Here's my old baby:

Thanks for the replies, I guess that the original caliper finish would have be nickel plated which would be a silvery/gold colour possibly even with a slight green tint to it.

Greddy, I do like the look of the gold & and you are right, very subtle & not shouty at all but just coloured enough to be distinguished from the wheels.

I think I'll wait until I get the car outside in ths sunshine before rushing to repaint, if I'm still not entirely happy with the silver finish I may buy some gold & try that, or even a mix of the two.

I think silver and gold both look great - personal choice thing (. I didn't think gold would look good but surprised)

So you just lacquered them having wire brushed them off?, interesting concept.

Like you I've painted the outside vented area of the discs too (as well as the hub area), wondered if that was a step too far, not too worried as I'm planning new discs & pads soon anyway.

Grab some pre painted discs- save some aggro n can be more resilient than most Halfords paint! If you do print em yourself it's defo worth running over the vents and hub areas- they're the bits that look tatty after a while

Yes tony, I used a wire brush attachment in an electric drill to clean the detritus off :? It looks much newer/cleaner now & definitely worth the time and effort to do it.
Regards

Mine were already done when I bought the car need refreshing now

Theirs a post on here somewhere who has done them orange on a black zed which I think looks well smart.

If I was to change colours do just clean the caliper up and paint straight over the top???
