Caliper Clips and Wheel Brace

OK, I'm going to start painting my calipers tomorrow and would like to do the pad clips too. Do theuy just pull off for painting? If so, how easy is it to get back on? Will I need to adjust the pad or anything?

Secondly, the car doesnt come with a wheel brace to my knowledge - anyone recommend a good one which doesnt damage alloys and gives good leverage?

Clips just pull off.

Regarding the brace I have wrapped some masking tape round the end to prevent damage to the rims.

Thanks. I assume that I can then just clip them back on and the pads wont need adjusting? I want to do the calipers in red, with the pad clips and hubs in silver.
