Yeah I'm disappointed with the Dr's performance so far as well, I was expecting (or at least hoping) we'd see him a little more up front at the end of the race, he's never been great at qualifying.
As for cruthchlow, I think he has a decent chance on the red beast. The Dr thinks to much about how the bike handles etc and Nicky was never really that good, if you look back at his winning year it was mainly due to others bad luck rather than his skill on a bike, as has been proved in subsequent years. Cruthchlow however doesn't think, he just rides the balls off whatever he is given just like stoner and why he has been able to do so well on the satellite bike. That is what I think the Ducati needs.
