You have made my day!

At last he is finally being removed!!!

I love his mention of many friends in F1! Surely he only ever had one (who just did as he was told) in the form of Max, who was himself outed a while ago!

If I never see him again on the TV that will be too soon! :P

Good riddance!

Whilst I have to admit he played a big part in the promotion of f1 and maybe even saved the sport once upon a time... He's been in charge 20 years too long and hopefully is leaving before he completely ruined it

Well - Whilst he did build it up - F1 is a bag of s**t now, so happy to see anyone bring back the 1 in F1.

Currently it's forumla32 after about 31 other better racing series that provide actual entertainment through real racing and engineering competition.

Removed? ...... Bernie has never done anything he hasn't engineered himself!

That's about right. With a fortune of around €3b and FI being sold for around €6b he could have leveraged a complete buyout himself. He's just cashed in his final chips €1b at the age of 86

Did a lot to build the sport, but agree with the consensus here that departure is long overdue and needs to get F1 back into entertaining people, not financial manipulation

Ahh yes MrsG mentioned this yesterday.... :tumbleweed: . Alas I didn't think it merited posting on a Car forum at the time. Not going to miss him one jot. :D

Surely we're all waiting for the CassetteBoy mash-up of his quotes and one liners?! :D It would be epic

I feel that overall Bernie did a great job for F1 over the years. For those of you that are younger than me (that is most of you!) it is now inconceivable to believe that until 1976 F1 was not regularly televised. Bernie was responsible for getting it to be so big.

Although it has lost its way in recent years and there is a lot more entertaining motorsport, I think F1 lost its way when technology was such that cars would go faster than people could drive them. Then a lot of innovation; e.g. Turbos, anti-lock braking got removed and engines became ridiculously small.

Just my view....

I think he needs his billion to fund his 'immortality' project, money or not, you cant do s**t with it when youre old folks home bound!
