Buying new brake discs/pads. Are these okay?

Guys, can somebody just confirm that its okay to buy these please? I want to replace the lot at once so I know where I am with it all...

Ive read that the Groove are noiser than the Ultimax which are the same price :D

Sound ok - ebcbrakesdirect will check that they are right for your car before despatch - well they did with mine over the phone.
 
I've not looked at the parts you list but echo gannet that the turbo groove are noisy. I run Aultimax and greenstuff and even they drone at certain speeds and brake pressure. Nice purposeful drone but there Vs plain disks....

If I was buying pads, I wouldn't have anything less than redstuff on the Z4. The greenstuff are rated for hothatchs, I've used the redstuff before and they give off very little brake dust and perform very well once warm. The first 4 applications are quite cold and I literally just made sure that on my estate road in the mornings, dabbed the brakes a few times and they worked perfectly on the drive to work.

Also, I had the Ultimax discs previously too, these combined with the redstuff = strong braking, no fade on progressive road use and also no noise/little dust. Ideal!

I'm running Turbo Groove discs and they're fine but are a bit noisy.I actually quite like the noise but thats up to you.I'm running yellow stuff pads,they do need to warm up to be at their best but work perfectly well from stone cold.They still faded badly on a recent trip to the ring,but I was glad I had them and not greenstuff. You'll see that some of us run greenstuff,some redstuff and some yellowstuff, ultimately it's your choice.I'll see how they last and see what I fancy fitting when I've worn them out.I fancy a full Brembo set up but the cost is eye watering. :D
 
Thanks guys, I'll go with the Ultimax discs and redstuff pads.

I'm sure I wont know the difference between green/red but its nice to know they'll stop better :D
 
To be honest, I havent really noticed too much difference with them as they're still new. But its good to know they're slightly better than stock if I do have to brake hard! They still dont feel as bedded in as my stock ones did though (I've done about 500miles on them). Maybe thats just cause I changed all 4 so it was always going to feel strange...

At the moment I still have some brake squeel from the rear, but no other noises when braking. But overall I'm happy with them, and its good to know what state they're in.

It was all alot easier to fit than I thought too. Especially the fronts. Even painted all my calipers and carriers silver, although not sure it looks that amazing with the red pads showing through :oops:
