buying my first actual suit

looking to buy my first actual suit for employment.

tried this one on and it fits like a glove
http://www.tmlewin.co.uk/Eddington-Blue-Tonic-2-Button-Slim-Fit-Suit/50942S,en_GB,pd.html?start=0&cgid=Mens-Suits-Slim-Fit

BUT

With quidco and discount codes I can get this one down to £160, it'll likely not fit as good as the other but I could have it tailored maybe???

opinions on these two and any other places where I could get one from?

I personally like house of Fraser, great designer ranges and sales within store. Look to buy two as if you plan to wear one for work rather than for interview you will need a change every two weeks while other being dry cleaned?. Austin reed also well made and often sales. Best if luck.

Also try > http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/Default.aspx?q=ukgob%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C&gclid=CNP3-Zfs6r4CFSEOwwod-wkAxQ

TM Lewin make a decent suit for the money, I have three of them and they wear well, but CT above are IMHO a little better quality and their shirts are definitely better having worn both for years.

Try to go to an Austin Reed outlet store. There's one in Clarkes Village here in Somerset and the service and quality are excellent.

I bought a couple of £200 suits on the high street (Ted Baker from Moss Bros) before buying a £200 suit or two from Austin Reed outlet. The difference is huge. The ones from Austin Reed were discounted from £400, and I don't doubt that for a second. The cut is excellent, the material noticeably better and after one year of work use the AR one is wearing MUCH better.

found a 20% off code for TM Lewin, then 10% cashback via quidco so might get this one

I have a couple of TM suits and they wear and fit well for off the shelf.

If you want something a bit special i would try semi tailored from slaters.

But most of my day to day stuff is debenhams machine washable stuff

need a matching tie and shirt for this suit ...don't fancy paying £30 for a silk tie though, any cheaper places where I could get a good quality and well priced white super fitted shirt and tie?

Pink shirt with a navy suit oozes confidence I always think :D . A free thinker, not a 'drone' in a white shirt. 8)

haha, I have no problems wearing pink.
I think i'll have the suit delivered to the store then go to NEXT to get a shirt and tie as I'll be able to put it on together to find the right one.

This is something that many overlook. Excellent advice.

Used TM Lewin for years, excellent suits, and their white shirts (double cuff) are great quality and last well. Their other shirts are excellent as well, plenty of colours and choice - they also do a 5 for £100 offer every now and then.

Can't go wrong with TM Lewin suits

I wear their shirts too but their tailored ones aren't tailored so much anymore so I'm going to venture out to new pastures next time I shop.

I use TM Lewin fully fitted shirts. As everyone says good quality and last well.

For suits I always buy Reiss because their fit seems to suit my body shape really well and they are always a fashionable cut (but a lot cheaper than Boss etc).

classic or slim tie( not skinny) for that suit??

gone with a classic white shirt http://www.tmlewin.co.uk/London-Super-Fitted-White-Sateen-Point-Collar-Shirt/505336718193,en_GB,pd.html

Gave up suits years ago, jeans and tee shirts for me especially now I'm retired. I won't go anywhere that requires a formal suit.

I do have a cream linen suit that gets an airing occasionally :D

If the dress code allows it wear a nice bright power tie. as I've not often heard anyone say "hey nice blue suit coat"
I have had multitudes of good comments on my "no boundaries" ties. https://www.google.com/search?q=no+boundaries+tie+collection&client=firefox-a&hs=0Mp&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=sb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=XgKVU42pBoatPJCigNAD&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg&biw=1890&bih=920

They aren't made anymore. Although one can get them on Ebay.
