Buying in Greece

Been holidaying on our favourite Greek Island ( Thassos ) for many years and was thinking of buying a small property out there - have an eye on a small traditional house that is located in a beautiful little village - it's on offer for only 27000 euros but appears structurally sound with main services - probably need to spend less than £5k to get it up together . It's a bit like " living a dream " but would be used as a holiday bolthole - not even sure if it's still for sale but in my eyes looks perfect :D

Anyone know the pitfalls of buying in Greece - would there be similar problems like Spain ? would I be allowed to leave it as an inheritance to my children ?

No idea about Greece but from the gist of the post i concur 2 things
worse case scenario you aren';t going to lose the crown jewels at around £25k invested & if you trust your children not to go awol on you & be trusted to do things right between themselves when you are no longer around then i would avoid the inheritance minefield & buy in their names from the outset

Good point although I have 4 children - all who can be trusted so to make it simple I could buy it in one of their names - as you say it's not a fortune .
