Buying advice

Have a good look at the brakes too. New front disks are not cheap and callipers are extortionate. Though the regular ///M3 caliper is the same, just a different colour and part number.

Is it though?

My credit card is still crying after I had new front discs, calipers and pads (and an Inspection 1). I understood they were M3 CSL parts, whereas the rears that I'll need soon are "regular" M3 parts.

Alas I can't remember the detail. However I can state that I had to have one caliper replaced on the front and I had to paint it black, as it arrived silver. The reason, I was told , was because it was half the price of a black one. My understanding was that it was from a regular ///M3. It certainly worked fine.

Edit. Looking Online just now, they all seem to be silver. So I may have misunderstood my mechanic. The originals on my ///MR were black.

Yes, my new calipers are silver too. No idea what the originals were as mine had been painted red. Now I need to paint the new ones to match the rears.

It's had an inspection 2 service in 2021 at 61k where the valve clearances were checked and adjusted and a recent MOT where they were checked again I believe. I'm assuming the valve adjustments means Vanos?
According to the current owner it's got a full service history and plenty of paper work etc
It's just knowing what to be looking for
Thanks for the help

Very surprised if they checked the valve clearance on an MoT. I understand it's a fairly involved and time consuming task. Mine were recorded in the log book, as in the actual clearances were written down each time it was done. That is not always the case though.

I've just the bought a Z4m roadster, as mentioned
I believe it was previously owned by Paul Harvard on the forum who had obviously meticulously looked after the car, however the next owner, the guy I bought the car off I believe has been a bit dishonest with the state the car was in.

I know it's my fault as it was a private sale, anyway, the rear offside corner of the car has dropped slightly, I believe it's the spring.

I'm taking the car to the garage on Monday, hopefully they can fix it, however some advice please, is this common? What is the best solution?
Thank you in advance
MOT is a safety check and no way does that include valve clearances, its a predefined list, nit saying you cant ask the garage to check but it is not part of an MOT
