Buying advice

Hi
This is my first post back in the BMW fold since my M3 days.
I looking for a low priced Z4 for occasional use sun £5k.
I’ve looked at some 2003-2005 2.5 and 3.0 roadsters.
One I’ve looked at has a dent in the rear quarter panel and the seller told me I can buy a new panel for £80 but google isn’t finding any. Is this right and where can I source for silver car?
I’ve read about the roof motor and drainage issues but was hoping to gain some advice from members on any major issues to look out for on these older cars.
Is there a detailed buyers guide that I could pour over?

Rear wings are bolted on so should be replaceable. If you can't find one you could try posting a wanted advert on here as people break them from time to time, or maybe try a breaker like Quarry Motors.

So you've read about the roof motor issues! There are a few people on here who can often revive dead ones and will relocate them into the boot away from the drains. Or if you are a contortionist you can move it yourself.

The M54 engines are very robust, but can suffer from oil leaks from the cam-cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket. CCVs can get bunged up as well, but otherwise it's usually just ancillaries that give problems like radiators, split expansion tanks, starter motors, etc. as you'd expect on any car of this age.

Rear brakes pipes can sometimes suffer from corrosion. About a foot in front of the rear passenger wheel they come out of a plastic cover and road dirt can build up at the end of the cover which retains moisture and causes corrosion.
