Buying a Z4M with 'iffy' service history

It's a shame people have a car like this then ignore the service schedule. 
As a bare minimum getting an indi to do an oil service wouldn't break the bank.
Baffles me, but the advice to walk away is sound unless it is 'offensively cheap' great expression Woots
and you're keeping it for a few years so selling on service history won't be such an issue.
