And lemforder? Meyle has been mentioned too.

Just want to find out what bushes to replace OEM and retain comfort.

Not that I think mine are shot but these things are good to know.

Also what is the list of parts to get if I wanted to do an overhaul

Can someone list how many of each bush I need?
 
Probably 2 of each. Use powerflex website as a guide.

I have fitted powerflex and like them, others don't. Increased road noise and firmer handling are downsides, longevity and improved feel are positive's.

Not sure on lemfender, look to be copies of OEM rather than improvements?
 
What bushes are you buying?

If you're talking lollipop bushes on the front arms, then meyle HD carry a four year warranty I believe. I recently ordered a whole set of new fronts arms and bushes from a little company in maidstone via ebay for considerably less than anyone else could achieve. I can dig out the link if you want it?

I think lemförder is OEM ;)
Most OEM stuff is sourced from the ZF group at bmw. So for bushings that means Lemförder.

I think the TS must first specify which bushings he's planning to replace before anyone can say something specific about recommendations
 
I had powerflex on my M3 all round, this time i have gone for Meyle HD wishbone bushes as they were the same price as the powerflex but saved me the hassle of pulling the old bushes out as they came complete in the allow mountings.

I'll be fitting them at the weekend but in all honesty at the front end on the M3 i went from new OEM bushes to polys and noticed no difference in steering sharpness, but my Z4 bushes are knackered so anything will be an improvement!
 
I used lemforder and bought a full kit, front wishbones, rear trailing, and suspension mounts.

I bought them from a BMW parts distributer online and I'm pretty sure the lemforder ones are oem.

Definitely firmed up the steering and improved the ride as the car seems to soak up bumps in the road better now.

Was advised not to go poly unless its for a track day car as they can ruin the ride (especially the state of uk roads).
