bumper headlight replace difficulty

Hi! After several months of searching i managed to source both clear halogen headlights. In order to replace them i know that the bumper has to be removed. I read a thread here on how to remove the bumper. How difficult is that and how difficult will be to replace the headlights and align everything properly when refitting? And what are the chances of breaking something? I have never removed a bumper before and i do not want my car to look crap afterwards. So i am wondering if it will be better go to a body shop or do the job myself mainly because of impatience as i have them for 2 weeks but i was waiting for the bulbs of my hid kit that hid direct messed up

I replaced my headlights last w/e.As previous guides have said,first unclip the four clips that hold the wheel liner to the bumper,next remove bolts at bottom of bumper.To unclip bumper from the wing I found the best way for me was at the join,slip your fingers between the bumper and the wheel arch liner ,put your thumb on the wing and pull forward with your fingers ,this will release the bumper from the wing.Do the same for the side.Next remove the torx bolts that hold the top off the bumper.
It is best to have help at this point to pull the bumper slightly forward to release it .Uncliping the headlight washer pipe allows you more room .
Take note of position of the headlight brackets,this will help when replacing headlight.

We found it helpful to keep one old light on to check for alignment of the replaced light - it gives something to reference

Cheers does everything aligns properly?
We have the same car color any pictures after fitting the headlights are welcome

Don't worry about aligning the bumper, the only section you need to align is the gap between the bonnet and the top of the bumper

You can do this even once the bumper is fitted, just loosen the 8 screws which sit inside the engine bay and move the bumper back and forth until the gap is right

Not really, just make sure when you tighten the last few screws the headlight is pushed back and up

I have no pics at the moment,when refitting the headlight I found it best when tightening screws ,lift the headlight up and push towards wing,this allows correct alignment between bumper and headlight.

Yes - there is significant alignment if you want things to look right. Most I look at on meets seem to be thrown back on with assorted gaps an alignment issues.

You may need to take the bumper on and off a few times for test fitting and adjustment to get thisngs right.

As mentioned above keep one light on as a template and look at how the fixing are located on the the other before you remove it. Look at the car before you start to see what gaps are where.

Key to me is to get the cross position between bonnet, light, wing and bumper as 2 accurate cross lines. After that everything flows and the final adjustment of bumper to bonnet gap is made.
