Bulb Warning Light

So tonight the bulb failure warning light comes on , after checking lights both passenger side dip and main beam are out , is it heard of for both bulbs to go at the same time ? And if say the main beam had blown would it affect the dipped beam bulb.

Also I noticed a rattle today sounds like its coming from drivers side rear metal on metal only when driving on a slightly bumpy road .

Metal sound. Sounds like could be disc guard has come loose. If you can put your hand through wheels and give it a wiggle ( the disc guard that is) and it moves freely then thats your problem

Both bulbs could go at the same time, but very unusual, full beam filament blowing would not affect the dipped beam filament

Metal on metal.... maybe a broken exhaust hangar ?

Metal sound could be a broken spring or exhaust hanger. Those are the 2 most likely things to break at the back end.

Xenon or halogen, pre or post facelift? All are different. Xenon for instance uses the same bulb for dip and main. Halogen is 2 separate bulbs

Halogen - I'd be looking at bulb failure, Xenon at the ignitor or control unit (which as they are expensive I'd be test swapping left to right one at a time.)
