Bulb improvement-

Re legality and HID kits: I chatted to my friendly MOT garage when I had mine done next year. Basically as yet they've still not received any precise guidelines on HOW they're supposed to enforce the law regarding HIDs (HIDs WILL be classed as an MOT fail).

In my experience:
- brighter bulbs in the dipped position make a very small difference
- adjusting the headlight beam height makes a small difference, but bigger difference than brighter bulbs
- HID kit is by FAR the biggest means of improvement - just a shame on the legality

I had my beam heigh checked at MOT and all was well.

Get a HID kit, mine was about £65 and has worked perfectly.

Easy to install and totally reversable.

Much brigher and (combined with LED sidelights) transform the appearance

Good chance they will fail an MOT when the new laws come in.

It would only take a few minutes to stick a regular bulb back in for the MOT though.

Stick a normal halogen bulb in - yes that is my plan and can be done within minutes

But i will first see if it goes through with the Xenon HIDS, as i have the lightwashers and the ballast, wires etc are all hid within the headlight unit, so out of sight
