Build date September 2006, what model year?

Hello everyone,

I’m still interested in the 3.0 si coupe (see my previous post http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8571).
The car is build mid September 2006. What is the official model year? Is this already model year 2007?

One setback, it is a full option car :thumbsup:, but someone forgot to order alarm option :thumbsdown: ????. My insurance company requires to have one. It will cost me 1200 euro to install an original BMW alarm.

Tomorrow it’s the big day, yes or no.

Not sure, but mine is Aug06 and MY must be 06 as the is no aux input for MP3, my07 have aux input, not sure of any other method of telling.

Yep. September would be on the "cusp". Just buy it, you'll love it!

Are our Zs prewired for the alarm? If so, how hard is it to install yourself?
 
I have no idea. For what I have heard, it is not just plugging in a module. And the car needs to be reprogrammed to integrate the alarm system.

It's a 2006, I couldn't find the AUX in. http://www.klasseauto.nl/aanbod.php/46

I inspected the car today. It drives fantastic, the engine is amazing. But.......... When inspected the bodywork, on the edge/contours of the hood nearby the front BMW roundel, the paint is damaged for 5 inches. So I asked the sales man what happened. He said "the car had a little accident during a test drive". Only the front bumper and the right headlight were damaged. And that was what the car repair shop repaired. I guess the collision scraped the hood. They promised to repair it. I will visit them again to see if it is ok. I have pictures on paper of the damaged car. As far I can judge, no critical parts of the cooling system were hurt. But still I have a doubt. The price is ok, lower than comparable coupes. Then it was demo, bad break in driving. Even with 3500 miles on the clock and 27 months old, they never changed oil. And them small things like http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8701.
