I used to be pro-assisted dying, but when you see how it's gone in Canada.... no no no.... horrific.
Edit - they are offering death to homeless and depressed people, young as well as old... I fully support the right of the dying (due to old age or illness) to choose to end their lives before they lose all dignity, quality of life, and before they waste hundreds of thousands that they want to leave to their kids... but I do't trust that government can offer that without also -
(1) leaving the door open to adult children pressuring mum to top herself so the inheritance doesn't get wasted.
(2) leaving the door open to the state encouraging anyone who has no happiness or hope (perhaps because they are disabled and the state refuses to give them enough to live on with dignity) and however young, to top themsevles.
