Buckmore Karting - Pubs nearby?

Hi Guys,

I am driving towards Buckmore Park for karting this weekend.

Are there any good pub that serve good food (lunch)?

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

J

The Oak On The Green in Bearsted, Maidstone, does great pub lunches... But is about a 15min drive away from Buckmore Park. Jembo might have a better idea of pubs up towards Chatham / Rochester.

Thanks Bing, a 15 minute drive is a very short distance!

We once had lunch in Tunbridge wells before karting!

The driving car bit is what we wanted!

Really is a nice pub - you might want to ring and book a table if it is a Saturday or Sunday. They do lovely big portions.

Also, slightly further away, the Ringlestone Inn is great too. Going there for a beer tomorrow night with Jembo & Jan_Tekin actually

Finally, further than the Oak, but closer than the Ringlestone, the Dirty Habit in Hollingbourne is also very nice.

Thought I'd try a bit harder :D

A while since I've stopped around there but,

The Tiger Moth, Highview Drive, Chatham, Kent ME5 9UJ http://www.johnbarras.com/pub/tiger-moth-chatham/c1840/

Ah! and the next two places I've just checked, one is now derelict and the other is for sale, but may still be open http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/77/7729/Little_Gem/Aylesford

There's a Beefeater/premier Inn at the bottom of Bluebell hill called the Malta Inn http://www.beefeatergrill.co.uk/beefeater/restaurants/rochester/malta-inn.html

Other than that it looks like a trip into the Medway towns!!

I wrote off an MGB by the Green in Bearsted, the White horse on the Green was also quite good. The Ringlestone is very good but not what it used to be in the good old days!

And there's definitely nothing wrong with eating in Tunbridge Wells except we don't have any real pubs any more, all a bit up market. There's the Smith and Western if you fancy some cowboy food. https://plus.google.com/115489936814380854713/about?gl=uk&hl=en

The White Horse is good too. Better view of the Green from outside. Shame about that MGB :(

Thinking about it - Bearsted will be busy this weekend because of Music on The Green on Saturday and Sunday.

The Dirty Habit is easy though - J8 of the M20, 5 mins round the corner.

Maybe a little closer than the Tiger Moth is the Robin Hood along Burham Common Road.

The Lower Bell used to do quite nice food.

The Lidsing Harrow is pretty nice as well.
