Is this the main bluetooth retrofit kit?
Assuming I have the correct snapin adapter, and a multi-function steering wheel, and that my car does NOT have the bulge in the boot... do I need anything else but this kit to get BT up and running?

Where should this bulge be in the boot? what size? etc. I havent looked if I have one, but not sure what I'm looking for :(

I was sure I had a picture of it but now cant find it

its to the left of the car on the firewall about a couple of inches deep (5cm) and maybe just over a foot (30cm) in width. If no one puts up a pic Ill do one over the weekend

I have all the parts for a retrofit.

Bluetooth Loom
Steering Column Cowl and Mic
Bluetooth Antenna
Bluetooth ULF
Pairing Button

The only part I havent got and would need to source from dealer for around £40 IIRC is the new panel with the buldge for the boot.

Regarding the cradle, it's not required and BMW dont make a cradle for lots of phones anway.

srhutch is right - I don't use the cradle that is in mine at all. Couldn't even tell you what phone it is designed for!

want to sell it? :P

I know you don't need the snapin thingy... tbh, I just want BT and to throw the jacket in the boot.

If you have some part numbers for the "complete" retrofit that'd be really handy

That's what I've got so far...
what else do I need?

I'm struggling to find this stuff on REALOEM

3 years after my bluetooth retrofit mine still won't work. Phone is paired, but the mic connections are wrong, so I can ring voicemail etc, but can't speak.

Went into the dealers and asked them to take a look, but I'm definitely now going to finish it asap.

I got my stuff from Bimmernav before the exchange rate went mad, bought the ULF on ebay. Be careful to get a late ULF as they're a lot more compatible with newer handsets, iphones, etc. I think mine is a 12th gen, and maximum is a 13th.

Not read through every link and item here but I've done the full retrofit.

Some random comments:

Make sure you get the enhanced microphone that goes on top of the steering cowling and not the standard that fits the top of the screen.

Carpet is a special order from Gernmany - just get the right colour as there are a few (fitting is a pita) I'll give some tips when oyu get to it.

Did I see you had the antennae lead?? Need that for ulf to antennae

Forget about cradles. carry a charger if batery life is a problem. Leave your phone in your jacket in the boot and it just pairs and works. You never then leave the car only to find the phone still there ...doh

There are 13 generatons of ULF's - the later the better, avoid release 1 that's useless. 8 onwards iirc has voice control. I run and 8 and 12 and both good

Andy - are you sure it's the mike and not just people pretending the can't hear you :poke:

There is a chance it might be for sale if I sell the car soon, which may happen, two seats is becoming an issue so might get a E46 M3 or E90 330i Sport
