Bruge (brugge) .......

Just drove to Bruge and had a wonderful 4 days .....
Found a really good hotel 3 kms out of the centre ....
Theres a really fantastic (doors cant get dinged) underground car park right under the bus station ...

Everything worth seeing or doing is within walking distance ......

Would recommend it as a quick weekend getaway to anyone ....

If you go in the winter, if there's even a remote chance of snow, wrap up seriously warm (arctic explorer levels of insulation) - it's a beautiful city but I totally misunderstood how cold it can be in February, the canals were frozen and the wind literally cuts straight through to the bone - I've never felt cold like it!

We bought a guide book locally and went with that .......
Hotel we used was the Wilgenhof if you are interested.
