Broken z4 e85/e86 rear light

All I'm really after is the piece of plastic and connectors that acts as the socket for the plug that comes from the car wiring. The socket that can take this plug :


I'm trying to add an extra section of wire to sit in between my cars wiring connector and my rear light. Much like an extension cable with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. This way I can splice into the little bridges wires for extra connections to intercept the signals but have the possibility of removing the little bridge cable to return the car to original.

I already have https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273705118649 which is a copy of the male connector coming from the cars wiring (A2 in the below diagram) with its connected wires so that can plug into my rear light (B1). Now I need the socket part (B2) to add to the other end of those wires so the cars wires can plug into it.

You can use any lci rear light. Doenst meed to be M specific

Could be pre-facelift as well. I've done a facelift conversion and the connectors remain the same.

thank you. I'll tweak the subject. Hopefully a few more people will take a look.

I tried looking places like ebay but people only sell working lights. I'm after a free/cheap broken light just to cut out the part I need.

I don't think B1 is a connector bmw make available to buy and will be very hard to find but I've been on aliexpress and I think this connector is what you need even though it looks a little different:



This is the tail light connector (B1):

Hopefully you can find the connector on its own for pennies somewhere

You may need to butcher the clip part on the Chinese connector for it to except the A1 socket so just tape it together.

I think the genuine part number is 6901723. Again it looks a little different but I'm confident A1 would fit into it:

I've ordered a pair from the ali express site as every pin is wired up so it should be a very easy job to just snip the wires and solder the wires from my male connector on to it.

What sort of terms did you search for to find that?

I almost gave up looking but started looking at all the 6 pin bmw connectors on aliexpress until potential success

Thanks [ref]Umfaan[/ref]. I have what I think is a correct plug and ordered the connectors from aliexpress this afternoon. I will give them a try when they arrive and see if the 2 ends fit in nicely. If not then I will give you a shout
