Broken springs aren't just for E85/6's...

So, is this your car?

My 23i springs have S1 printed on.
When my car rear end was clunking the first thing I checked was the springs, but were fine.
Eventually just needed turning 90 degrees and rubbers coated in talc to stop the noise.
I think the barrel spring design is very poor as the loads are not vertical like a normal coiled spring over strut, as is the front end.
Leading to a point load on that small diameter at the bottom.

I'm waiting to find out. I have quite a large excess anyhow so it will likely not save me much. I took warranty incase anything intricate failed (DCT) but so far it's been a wheel bearing and a spring.

7-10 days to fix, waiting on parts from Germany.

It will be just the broken one I assume. I'd rather not have to pay for two. The difference in height IME will be minor and it could be a defect meaning the other will not go for ages.
