Hi everyone,

So I go out to my z4m today to go to work and for some reason the traction control light, abs light, tyre pressure monitor, and handbrake lights are all on and wont turn off. The car is due its inspection 1 and is going in tomorrow morning to have it done. Does anyone know if maybe i have blown a fuse? I am 200 miles over my inspection milage as its showing -200 although it seems to add another 25 everytime i start the engine!

Any help appreciated as Id rather not get rinsed for hunreds by bmw if its just a fuse i can change tonight.

Thanks Pete

I know it wasn't an M but sounds very similar to this...

Good luck!

Most likely cause is an ABS wheel sensor, does it run ok? Most important factor is how the car is running now.

Only worry about being over your service schedule if it's -1000m over.

That's happend to mine a few times too, always starting from cold. However, I found that if you switch the ignition off and then start her up again it seems to go away.

It's happened 3 or 4 times since I bought the car a month ago, I put it down to the recent really cold weather as it doesn't do it every time.

The manual says it's a failure of the driving aids and to drive with caution or something. Still, I'm planning on getting BMW to look at it when I next take the car in

If it's serious it will have recorded a fault code - in which case it should be easy to diagnose.

Have you still got power steering? I had a similar problem shortly after new that turned out to require a new ECU...can't recall if it was all four of those lights but certainly most of them (and power steering lost) - hope its not that, certainly if you are out of warranty...good luck.

hmmm ill have to have a good look over it tonight and clean it down etc, snow and salt heres been really bad so its def that, that has nailed it. I'll post an update tomorrow on what the out come is incase anyone else has similar issues.

I had all those lights and the speedo went kaput. BMW first thought it was the wheel sensor but turned out to be the brake control module. Not a cheap fix :(
