Broken Into!

Woken up this morning by next door. came down stairs and opened the door to be told that my boot has been open from about 5am! walk down a few doors to where my car is parked to find the boot wide open but absolutely nothing missing?? one of the young chav lads for a few doors down is saying how nice the car is and that he has been trying to find out who's car it was for ages. told me he had been making sure nothing was taken! very strange! i cant figure out how it would have got open!? even if i handn't shut it correctly it wouldn't have opened on its own surely?
 
Only thing I can think is that if your key is programmed to open the boot without unlocking the doors and you have pressed the button by mistake.
 
My sister had her x3 and her partners Merc broken into one night.no sign of forced entry, doors were closed after just a sat nav and sunnies taken, quiet middle class suburban cul de sac.

Police had no idea how they did it.

Anyone sat there with a scanner of some sort would have been seen by the local curtain twitchers.

Someone did post that link from a CNN news article about breaking into cars. Maybe something similar...
 
Pretty windy last night so perhaps it not being closed was enough to pop it open all the way.
 
i used to have my z4 key on a bunch of other key`s but i found my boot lid open a couple of time`s from where the button to the boot had been pressed when i put the keys in my pocket.
so now i have it separate to the rest of the key`s i havent had the problem since :thumbsup:
 
well the key has the boot button, but even in the past if ive pressed the button by accident ive never come back to find it open before, tbh the lifters are rubbish and only one lifter is working so i would be surprised if it open itself! just glad all my detailing stuff is still there!

getting miffed with the car now tbh! wing mirror smashed off last weekend and other little problems, just bringing the whole feeling for the car down! needs new headlights but even getting new ones is not an easy fix as the wires are rotten. hopefully getting my new exhaust next weekend should make me feel better lol
 
You can't blame the car for the wing mirror, you hit the wall. These things happen from time to time.
