Broken glovebox hinge

Am I right when I say that you can't buy replacement parts to fix the hinge and you'll instead need to buy a full assembly from stealers or breakers and swap them over? Seems a lot of work for a little plastic piece

I had a broken one a while ago, after a passenger decided there was more room in there than I'd admitted. He tried to put his camera in there and tried to force it shut. It shut on the 3rd attempt, but fell apart when he opened it to retrieve his camera.

If you've still got all the little pieces, you can glue/bond it back together.

Otherwise, it is indeed a replacement door/back - and you just swap the lock/light over. I paid £45 for one in excellent condition from here and ASM have a couple of Z4s dismantling.

It's worth checking what's actually broken, when my handle fell off it I assumed something had broken then discovered the hinge pin was missing. In the end I found the hinge pins has worked loose, it's a thin scroll pin and had actually slipped back inside the hinge tube so was hidden from view. Simple free fix.
