Does anyone happen to have a knackered / old GapTech I can attempt to pull apart for research?
(It's potted/glued/resin covered so will be a nightmare but want to try and see the PCB)
I’m interested in this also. Mine stopped working so I had to remove it. Whatever the green wire does, that’s the bit that’s not doing the job it’s supposed to.

If it's broken, i think IAmOrion is hoping to dissect and potentially replicate it. Might be in your interests as he might be willing to sort you out a Pi replacement or similar.
(Apologies if i'm completely mis-reading the situation)

Yes, if Sgr74 wants to sell it to me cheap that's be great. There's a very high chance i'll destroy it trying to get all the gunk off so I don't fancy spending much though.
It's not a Pi replacement I'm looking into it, it's a "simpler" mod (I use that term loosely as it's still complicated) that can add 3 touch flash for the older gens, as well as GapTech functions, and any other cool iBus related stuff I can do for much cheaper than the combined current options on the market, including "follow me home" lights and stuff too. By using an Arduino as the controller "interface" it's always updatable and re-programmable via USB
